Fieramilanocity is the venue for the next Milano Unica

The third edition of Milano Unica, the Italian textile tradeshow, will be held from September 12th to 15th in Fieramilanocity, in the Portello pavilions (Milan). The good results of the first two editions of Milano Unica, the set of events comprising Shirt Avenue, Moda In, Ideabiella and Prat Expo, exceeded all expectations. During the second edition over 30,000 visitors revealed an increase by 15% on figures for the previous edition. Of these, the interesting fact is that there were first-time visitors from India, Brazil, China and Eastern Europe, and there were also many participating companies from Japan, the US, Korea, Hong Kong and Europe.
Most of them came from Spain ( + 34%), Germany (+35%) and Great Britain (+26%). The first half of 2006 revealed global dynamics of recovery. “This evolution trend is not evenly distributed”, said Paolo Zegna, President of Milano Unica. “We believe that all companies will need to work harder in the future, even as there are so many products available at low prices produced in countries where labour costs are low, like China. So leadership needs to be based on quality and sophistication”.
