RomaniaFabricDays, the professional tradeshow in the region
|
Between October 4th and 6th, seventeen countries were represented at the event held in Bucharest, with a total 167 exhibiting companies coming from: Romania (34%), Turkey (12%), Pakistan/Taiwan/China/India (15%), Germany (12%), Italy (12%), and the remaining 15% grouping companies from Bulgaria, France, Spain, Belgium, Austria, the UK, Holland, Greece, India and Poland.
The concept of RomaniaFabricDays is simple and clear: Romania boasts the largest industrial apparel sector in the continent. In spite of this, and until this event was created, the country lacked a meeting point where professionals in the sector could communicate, show and inform about the latest developments. All tradeshows held up until that time in the textile, accessories and service sectors were just “business addressing consumers”, mostly with retailers and sales to end consumers who were seeking “good discounts”.
The planners, Avanz M.C., are experts in this area, and knowledgeable about planning “business to business” events. “The demand from sponsors and exhibiting companies motivated us to grow and offer in Romania and to Romania, Bulgaria and the region, a genuine tradeshow for professionals in this sector.
RomaniaFabricDays was visited by 1,220 professionals coming from Romania (81%), Bulgaria (6%), Moldavia (5%) and Turkey, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Belgium, Austria, the UK, Holland, Greece, etc (8%).
Results for this edition were not as important as for the previous ones. Planners from Avanz commented that “the dates were not exactly the best, for the event was held at the same time as others in Bulgaria, Russia, London, etc. However, the schedule was not decided upon by us, but by the Palace of Parliament, so this edition was smaller than the previous ones”.
The next edition of RomaniaFabricDays, to be held in March 2008, will once again include a production area, where the machinery industry sector will be present. There will also be an important conference on “New Opportunities for Romanian Industry in the apparel sector”.
