Production system
Viscose is a natural product obtained from cellulose, 100% natural material with its origin in a special kind of pine-trees specifically grown for this purpose. The manufacturing process begins when cellulose is dissolved as wood pulp, to obtain a solution that is apt for weaving. After filtering to remove unwanted residue, the thick solution is introduced in weaving machines and injected in tubes in a tub where viscose turns into solid, fine filaments. These are then grouped, stretched and spun in bobbins as continuous yarn under the Enka Viscose brand name, apt for demanding textile applications.
In order to guarantee the quality of their products and that of the manufacturing process, materials are obtained only from guaranteed suppliers, strict ongoing controls are used throughout the whole process, assessing over 500 different standards and with reduced deviation margins, tests are carried out on physical and chemical properties of all finished products. In addition, special methods control the yarn’s degree of friendliness to the dye. These methods have been especially developed by Enka to guarantee quality.
