Trend Selection Show in New York

The 16th edition of Trend Selection was held in New York on September 3rd and 4th. Collections by 43 companies features trends for the 2009/2010 winter season, including those by tanneries, textile companies and manufacturers employing synthetic materials. The AEC reports that there were also many Spanish companies among them.
Over 600 visitors, 20% more than in the past February edition, took part in the activities and visited the stands.
Audiovisual presentations on trends were highly welcome, as was the book of trends on American markets, prepared for this event. Leather goods, purses and footwear were among the most widely sought while leather apparel was slightly less important. In addition to visitors coming from New York itself, there was an increase in the number of people coming from other states and even in the midst of a crisis affecting exchange rates in spite of new plans for recovery, visitors were enthusiastic.
There were innovative proposals for the winter season, and all widely acclaimed by visitors. These novelties were in various sectors: textiles and synthetics, glass beads, wool, felt, Jacquards, upholstery, tassels, etc. Visual effects, with colours merging and giving the idea of dynamics in 3D, were a major attraction.
The edition of Trend Selection New York announcing trends for the summer 2010 season will be held on February 3rd and 4th, 2009.
