Pasarela Gaudí makes Barcelona the major fashion center
|
Between February 2nd and 6th, 2004, Barcelona became the center of fashion, design, innovation and creativity. Pasarela Gaudí (Gaudí Catwalk) in the frame of the new edition of Barcelona Fashion Week, was highly successful, as was revealed by the level of designers present, the 900 accredited journalists and the over 35,000 visitors attending the event.
On the other hand, the participation of three Portuguese designers and the presence of 25 foreign journalists representing various mass media from around the world, strengthened the event’s international projection.
Included in the Fashion Week, Salón Gaudí, open from February 6th to 8th, offered exhibitors a comprehensive offer as regards fashion in various styles. Of the 250 brand names presenting their proposals, among which design and quality stood out, the 11,500 professional visitors came from Spain and other countries including Japan, Germany, Australia, France, Belgium, Malta and Switzerland, among others.
As a novelty, the Trade Show included a Round Table on the textile sector where the discussion focused on the freedom of store schedules programmed as of January 1, 2005 and the freedom of imported product quotas.
The week, in addition to these two events, included parallel activities such as Modafad, including a number of exhibitions on design and fashion, held between February 6th and 8th.
