Techtextil and Avantex, textile and fabrics of the future, today

From June 7th to 9th, 2005, Frankfurt will host two major trade shows: Techtextil and Avantex. Both events will hold symposiums, with sixty presentations each, dealing with contents following quality criteria, instead of focusing on length and quantity.
Techtextil is the International Monographic Fair for Technical Fabrics and non-knitted materials, and their motto will be “Focusing on Innovation”, concentrating on the many applications of products defining this trade show. Avantex, the International Forum for Textile Innovations for the Clothes-making sector, will deal with “Discover the future of Clothing” issues, by studying the latest creations and trends in the “smart clothes” sector, grouping clothing with additional, integrated properties.
The characteristic, dynamic and ongoing impulse at Techtextil will continue to focus on Buildtech and Mobiltech application fields, now adding Medtech, a segment where major evolution is evidenced. The other nine application sectors will continue to be actively developed: Geotech, Protech, Agrotech, Clothtech, Hometech, Indutech, in addition to Oekotech, Packtech and Sporttech. At the same time, the new Techtextil Symposium will be held, awarding the Techtextil Award to Innovation.
Avantex will once again focus on the latest evolutions. Products grouped will represent the whole chain of procedures: research, development, consultancy, textile technology, fibers + weaving textiles, surfaces + membrane, and the improvement and perfecting of textile fabrics, hi-tech clothing and innovation. Also, applications sectors will present the possibilities for each property: Fashion/Lifestyle, Healthcare, Sports / Outdoor and Workwear / Protection. Avantex, therefore, will be comprehensive as to innovation in the clothes-making sectors. According to Michael Jänecke, director of events at Techtextil and Avantex: “The fact of co-coordinating the dates and simultaneously holding both shows, with a transparent division makes us join efforts, to the benefit of exhibitors and visitors”.
