The new GDS is global and featuring multiple aspects

Cpd woman_man was held between August 1st and 3rd, 2004. It featured the various aspects of international fashion, with renewed strength. Following the success of its previous editions, the new concept in trade shows focused in the three central segments: women’s fashion, men’s fashion and casual/sportive fashion. These three aspects were clearly differentiated in the latest edition. The priority of Igedo Company was to offer clear information in view of the coming season, and the orders to be placed by clients. Information was provided by means of brochures, fashion shows featuring the latest trends and seminars on fashion, all of which offered visitors a pleasant experience supported by the efficiency of cpd woman_man planners.

New areas
Information was concentrated in sectors as follows:
- Fashion Gallery: which moved to Pavilion 14, where design was updated and renovated.
- White & Night – an individual section with a “Designers’ Pavilion” in the middle.
- Pregnancy & kids – the new sector in Pavilion 8 (as of 2005, a whole “trade show within a trade show”, with the Kid’z Fashion sector).
Thus, cpd woman_man offers an international platform, a looking point on the global world of fashion.

Exportations
The exportations chapter is greatly benefited by the presence of professional visitors coming to Düsseldorf from all around the world. Corporate communication on the part of companies was covered by press media, organized by date and time and concentrated to offer better information to all.

Fashion – a meeting place in Düsseldorf
Düsseldorf is the meeting point for all fashion designers and brand names. For the first time, planners published a catalogue under the name of “The Power of D”, which lists all brand names present in Düsseldorf during the event. The guide helps people know “Who is where”, in Düsseldorf. As a novelty, in addition to exhibitors and those presenting their collections at the “Düsseldorf Fashion Houses”, there will also be a list of showrooms in the center of the city.

Highly efficient planning
Cpd woman_man is the center of the world of fashion. The venue and the “Düsseldorf Fashion Houses” concentrate a total 2,000 designers showing their collections. Over 50,000 professional buyers travel to Düsseldorf, coming from 80 countries. In the previous edition, there were 1,600 journalists offering global covering of the latest trends presented at Düsseldorf, and news appeared on international media, in some 9,000 articles and about 900 TV shows.

A warm welcome
Buyers coming from the new member countries of the EU were added thanks to special marketing activities including attractive tourism packages. Update data for the new buyers coming from new EU member countries and Russia, collected over a number of years, are now the data base that enables communication with professional visitors from Riga to Moscow and from Warsaw to Prague.

Clear segmentation
Security was guaranteed, due to clear structure and segmentation and signs directing visitors along the short paths to each stand. Düsseldorf reveals that knowledge acquired at international fairs such as CPM Collections Première Moscow and Fashion China Shanghai, in addition to research work on consumer markets are added value to cpd woman_man. Spanish designers Caramelo and Heitorn presented their collections addressing both men and women.
