Shanghai Tex grows larger to welcome more participating exhibitors
|
The planners of this 11th edition of Shanghai Text, the International Textile Industry Trade Show in Shanghai 2005 recently announced that the number of companies making their reservations for a space has sold out all available stands. In view of the many requests for space, they have set up a waiting list and are considering the possibility of finding a solution to this growing demand. The event will be held between June 3rd and 7th, 2005, at the New International Exhibitions Center in Shanghai. The trade show is already known among textile industry companies and regarded as the “leading textile trade show in great China”. Sources state that “in view of the growing demand of companies wishing to take part we are considering the need of enlarging the area to welcome all those companies on our waiting list”. Many of those participating in the past 2003 edition have made their reservations in advance for the 2005 edition, which has caused the event to be overbooked, even before the dateline for reservations.
At the time, the area for this trade show is about 100,000 square meters, larger than last time’s edition by 40%. The only solution to meet the growing demand is making this area larger.
Fabrics and clothes exported by Chinese manufacturers make up the overall offer, and as of 2005, when restrictions and duties are eliminated, the volume of exportations will grow even larger. “If we bear in mind the position of Chinese textile products in world markets, the exchange of expertise and technique among local and foreign companies will be the only way to meet competition”, state planners’ sources. “The trade show aims towards facilitating this exchange of information”.
Several countries have already confirmed their presence. Fortunately some of them, such as Germany, Italy, the US, Spain, Korea and Taiwan have already made their reservation for large areas in the exhibition center to show their products. Major agents from other sectors have shown interest in this trade show, including fabric weavers, textile chemicals, dying, painting, etc.
In order to make it visitor-friendly the planners have structured the trade show in five major themes: machinery and equipment for fabric manufacturing and stockings; textile chemicals, machinery and equipment for dying, painting and finishing processes, weaving machines and knitting machines.
There will be seminars and conferences on various subjects, with a schedule announced as soon as the program is designed.
During the past edition some 120,000 visitors attended the four-day event, coming from 47 countries and representing over 30 cities, provinces and autonomous localities in China, in addition to representatives from 35 countries.
