Barcelona to stand alongside Berlin as the capital of metropolitan fashion

Break & Butter will be visiting us between July 8th and 10th, because the event planners have decided that due to its culture, creativity and progress, Barcelona should be regarded as a “second home” for the event attracting thousands of visitors in Berlin.
The idea for Bread & Butter was born in April, 2001, and by July that year, some 60 brand names, not identified with conventional trade shows had come together for this event, regarding it as the most suitable platform to showcase their products. The opening edition in July 2001 was a concept for insiders, but the second edition conquered the larger portion of the sector.
Unaffected by the usual difficulties in traditional shows, in August 2002 Bread & Butter became the star of this scene, and it has been setting landmarks at a steady pace.

By 2003 its success became international, reaching its maximum splendor in 2004.
In January 2005, under the “Selected” motto, Bread & Butter Berlin presented the “superior area”, grouping the most representative trade marks for luxury and design.
In order to find out more, we should give a look to the figures: At the VII Berlingold, exhibiting companies added up to 580 and the event was visited by 34,000 persons. At the VIII Selected, there were 650 exhibiting companies, and over 42,000 visitors attended the show. This growth rate is encouraging, and we need to remember that in 2001, during the first edition, there were only 50 participating companies, and 5,000 visitors. .

It is expected that the Barcelona edition will contribute to empower this growth rate. The board of Bread & Butter feel that Barcelona is a favourite international destination, and their assumption is also based on figures: 50% of the visitors to this trade show come from this city. So Barcelona becomes the capital of urban wear with this new contribution, showcasing some of the most famous, exclusive trade marks.
