The IF 6th International Istanbul Ready to Wear Fair is a major event for companies with expansion plans
|
The textile and clothes-making sectors were the foundation stone in Turkish economy for they have been essential in the industrialization process and the international orientation of their markets for the past two decades.
The clothes making sector is currently level with the textile sector, for Turkish companies have seen the need for an added value in their products, which have enjoyed acceptance in international markets. Turkey then does not only supply materials and other supplies, such as fabrics and yarns, but they are also promoting quality clothing, with their own creations and designs, as they gradually introduce their trade marks. As a consequence of the sector’s relevance in national economy, specialized trade shows are held as a stepping stone into international markets. Turkish products are therefore excellent tools in the exchange of technology and knowledge between Turkey and other countries participating at these events.
Tüvap, the international trade shows and congresses center, plan the IF 6th International Istanbul Ready to Wear Fair, to be held during August 25th, 26th and 27th, in Istanbul. The trade show will include exhibiting companies from various sectors including clothes-making, fabrics, stocking and socks, underwear and complements, as manufacturers associations take part in the promotion of this show.
IF 6th International Istanbul Ready to Wear Fair is held every year and is gradually becoming more international, as revealed by figures. In 2004 there were 497 exhibiting companies and 20,600 professional visitors, all coming from various countries including Germany, France, Holland, Italy, the UK and US, bringing their most renowned trade marks.
In spite of the disheartening situation of the textile sector in general and in many countries – except for China – Turkey has continued to grow without interruptions as their companies acquired updated technology. Today, 20.5% of their foreign trade corresponds to the textile industry sector, with 74% of their products exported to European countries.
