Novelties at Igedo: new strategy by cpd trade show

The German trade show agency has presented a new concept and strategy known as "cpd special for Spain", in Madrid and Barcelona in early June. This comprises a series of special promotion and marketing measures especially designed by Igedo to strengthen Spain's presence at the cpd Düsseldorf trade show. Igedo is persuaded about the strength and relevance of Spanish companies exhibiting or wanting to exhibit their products at the cpd Düsseldoft trade show.

In short, this "cpd special for Spain" concept integrates the following measures of support, oriented towards both media promotion of the global image of Spanish fashion and brand names at cpd, and the commercial and promotional contacts at distribution channels.

The power of Düsseldorf, the new strategy of cpd
Margit Jandali, the director of Igedo, the German company planning the cpd Düsseldorf trade show and other major international fashion events, explains that there are a number of issues in relation to new plans and strategies for the future of cpd Düsseldorf and also in relation to the current scenario of fashion trade shows in Germany. Margit Jandali and Wolfgang May, Marketing director of Igedo, defined Düsseldoft ("The power of D") as the indisputable capital of fashion, during their presentations. It is clear that cpd as a trade show, usually held in February and August every year in Düsseldorf, Germany, holds the leading position among trade shows dedicated to fashion. With 1,500 exhibitors, the whole universe of women's and men's fashion is present at cpd: from exclusive designers to large commercial clothes-making, brides gowns and all sorts of sectors.

The Düsseldorf motto "Business First", is the engine behind each edition of cpd: at Düsseldorf you can find the true business of fashion. Some 60,000 professionals from all around the world come to see the over 3,000 fashion collections, shown around the city. Of these, 40,000 customers visit the trade show comprising the world of fashion in the most important business event within this sector.

ICEX and FEDECON supporting cpd Düsseldorf
cpt is a major platform for Spanish exportations. Many national companies have harvested commercial success at cpd Düsseldorf, so ICEX and FEDECON greatly value the event for its indisputable potential for business. FEDECON is the entity coordinating the support given by ICEX to Spanish companies exhibiting at cpd Düsseldorf, and Mr. Pablo García - president of FEDECON - states during the presentation held in Madrid on June 8, that ICEX and FEDECON both trust and value the cpd trade show.

Margit Jandali explained the new distribution concepts and the visual presentation of the various sectors at the coming edition of cpd, to be held in Düsseldorf from July 24th to 26th, 2005, and the several other planned events (among them, a great fashion show at the Königsallee - "Street of Fashion") and the many important exhibitions that will once again relate this great metropolis of Düsseldorf to the expressions of the world of fashion, pointing out - among others - to "From Punk to Haute Couture", by Alexander McQueen.

New strategies by Igedo Company for 2006
Attendants to the various presentations showed interest in the new strategies planned by cpd for 2006, for there will be 2 trade shows every season, with a "new rhythm" for sales. The first edition (early January and July), will be known as cpd Düsseldorf ("Collections Premiere Dusseldorf", as the opening event), and the second edition, to be held a month later, known as Igedo Fashion Week (early February and end of July). The second appointment will repeat the model known up to now as "cpd", which means that there will be once again some 1,500 exhibitors and the event will welcome some 44,000 professionals. Of these two editions, the former, known as "cpd" has been created in response to the demand of major German trade marks selling their products a month in advance, and who up until now used to sell at the Düsseldorf trade show. Several major companies have already confirmed their participation, among others, Bianca, Oui, Olsen, Kapalua, Passport, etc. (they will, of course, also be present at the second appointment). This first edition will be defined as a "point of contact" to prepare definite sales programs, for German companies have some 6 to 8 delivery schedules every season. The "first trade shows" - cpds - are expected to have a maximum 120 exhibitors in 2006, only for women's fashion, and it is estimated that some 3,000 professionals from Germany and neighbouring countries will visit the show. This seems to show that these trade shows are initially oriented exclusively to respond to the demand of German markets.
