Body Look, as a part of Igedo

Body Look is the German international tradeshow for underwear, socks and stockings, fabrics and accessories, which is as from now a part of Igedo, though the tradeshow will still be held in Leipzig in its January 2006 edition.
Body Look, with “bodytex” the international tradeshow showcasing collections of underwear, swimwear, socks and stockings, fabrics and accessories will from now on be planned by Igedo Company. Valid immediately, Igedo Company of Düsseldorf has purchased the rights of Body Look and bodytex. However, for the time being, the only German tradeshow specialized in underwear, swimwear and socks/stockings will be held in Leipzig from January 27th to 29th, 2006. Igedo Company and Leipziger Messe will work together to plan the event.
“With the expertise and contacts in the world of fashion, and the extensive worldwide network of Messe Düsseldorf as a partner, Igedo Company is perfectly able to empower Body Look to make it still more international”, stated Igedo’s general director, Frank Hartmann, following the acquisition. Body Look fits perfectly within the schedule of fashion tradeshows held in the city, and the industry will benefit from these joint efforts. However, “the final location of the tradeshow as of January 2006 and onwards will be discussed among associations and exhibitors”, Hartmann explained.
Wolfgang Marzin, president of the Leipziger Messer board of directors, regards the acquisition of Body Look by Igedo Company as “an ideal solution for the benefit of this industry sector”. Marzin commented “Body Look is growing, and revealing increasing growth trends”. The sector has looked to Body Look for news, and the event has always been widely accepted. However, our financial expectations – on the part of Leipziger Messer – for the tradeshow have not been met. “Igedo Company’s expertise is more significant in planning fashion fairs and they can make use of their synergies. The pass guarantees, however, that Body Look will continue to be held in Germany”.
Body Look was held for the first time in August 2002, as a national forum for the lingerie, bed-linen and stockings/socks industry sectors. Since then, it has been a platform for trade in this sector, twice a year in winter and summer. In July 2005 Body Look became larger, to include “bodytex”, the tradeshow featuring new fabrics, accessories and fibers. During the latest edition of Body Look with “bodytex” (July 22nd to 24th, 2005), 284 labels were presented to 4.040 visitors (an increase by 12% as compared to the edition held at the same time the year before).
Body Look’s next edition will be held at the Leipzig Fair Center, from January 27th to 29th, led by Igedo Company.
