Pronovias chooses the Kurt Kauf interior logístic systems and storage.

Kurt Kauf was selected as the supplier of the interior logistic storage systems for the company Pronovias. The Kurt Kauf solution offers a complete logistic system of handling and processing of garments and represents an investment close on 2 million Euros.
The company Pronovias, dedicated to fashion and with its base in El Prat de Llobregat (Barcelona), has underaken an extension and renovation of its facilities to face its international level expansion, with an investment that has budgeted some 25 million euros. Pronovias closed the 2004 exercise with an aggregate sales figure of 108 million euros and foresees ending 2005 with invoicing of 120 million and 140 million for 2006.
Kurt Kauf was chosen as the interior storage logistics systems provider for this new job. After the agreement between the two companies at the end of 2004, Kurt Kauf has worked on the design, planning, supervision and coordination of the project in order to be able to finally have the whole finished installation available by November 2005, exactly as planned. Pronovias started the operational activity in its new international distribution center last December, leaving the former facilities behind for storage, production and despatch which is also available in the zone of Prat del Llobregat.
The new facilities are located in front of the head offices of Pronovias, close to the highway from Barcelona airport, and consist of a new 5-storey building and a main building completely refurbished of 8 floors.
Gärtner logistic transport system for hanging garments
The new Gärtner logistic transport system for hanging garments is distributed in more than than 17,000 m2 divided between the two buildings. In this system we can highlight:
— An exclusive Gärtner classification system for hanging garments for classifying not only garments by customer by also by multi-criteria for subsequent storage.
— A classification system garment by garment, according to the destination country, for their subsequent storage and prior to classification by customer or despatch.
— A telescopic automatic loading ring which allows fast loading and unloading of garments from the trucks.
— Systems of automatic conveyor belts which connect the different flood of the building, totally automatic, moving around trains of trolleys according to priorities.
— Systems of multi-flow guide changes, with incorporated sensors for complete security of all the automatics. These systems allow all kinds of combinations and advances of garments horizontally
— A dynamic rail system (or concertina) for storing some 4,000 garments hanging in the reception/despatch area
— A system of made-to-measure gondolas for the transport and handling of all the complements of the dresses
New finishing túnel
In order to reinforce the pressing area which Pronovias currently has on its finishing floor, Kurt Kauf has supplied and installed a new Veit tunnel of 6 chambers to obtain a quality pressing of the garments. The tunnel has an output of some 1000 garments per hour, which considerably increases the production Pronovias currently had. The tunnel has a display with a capacity for storing up to 1,000 different finishing programs, and can optionally provide a system of automatic recognition of garments which allows selection of the type of finishing program suitable for each garment.
