YKK to participate with ITS#Accessories for an award to creativity in works with zippers and binding items
|
For the second time YKK is renewing their agreement with International Talent Support ITS, to hold an annual creativity contest offering international design students and graduates an opportunity. In the past edition Denma Bvasalia won with a clothing item fully made with YKK products, and showing how a simple item – zippers – may become the protagonist of designers’ work.
This year YKK is to repeat this experience by availing young creators their whole range of products, while ITS#Accessories invites them to create an accessory with YKK zippers. Final works will be assessed by ITS#Five jurors during the gala dinner at the closing of this contest in Trieste. Kei Kagami, the Japanese designer sponsored by YKK, will be one of the jurors.
YKK will supply a special kit to participating schools, containing zippers and other binding items, as well as all necessary materials for creators to make their design.
The ITS#Accessories award adds up to 20,000 Euros, divided into two categories, “Accessories Collection of the Year” (10,000), and “YKK Accessory Award”, (10,000).
YKK’s goal is to support talented young people for them to interpret zipper technology with originality, focusing on the concept that holds that little things mean a lot and can make a difference.
