Springtime approaches and this announces also the upcoming edition of Bread & Butter which will be held for the first time in Barcelona from Wednesday, July 5th to Friday, July 7th, and in Berlin from the 14th to the 16th of the same month.
In order to announce the event Bread & butter launched a campaign based on portraits of co-founder and partner Kristyan Geyr. The designer of this campaign explains: “As a photographer, ever since the first tradeshows were held I was fascinated by the beautiful, interesting celebrities that will attend this type of event”. The result of his fascination is reflected in innumerable “People Shots” first shown during the January editions in a show that will be repeated on this occasion “celebrating all protagonists who respond to the spirit of Bread & Butter and make up its Community”.
VeryKIDS

Bread & Butter, aware of the “renaissance” experienced by the children’s apparel sector (when fashion victims of yesterday are today young parents who dress fashionably, and in response to which manufacturers around the world add children’s lines to their adult-size apparel lines), created veryKids, the first differentiated platform especially conceived for this segment and focusing on essential elements within the world of progressive, updated trends in children’s apparel.
Innovating, daring and modern, veryKIDS showcases the latest trends in collections by renowned brands. With an exclusive selection of clothes for boys and girls, babies and a full range of accessories, equipment, young mothers and makeup.
veryKids once again reflects the concept of Bread & Butter: modern, progressive, always a step ahead. It reflects the preferences of the new generation. The opening edition of this event held in Berlin during January was highly successful, and will surely be so once again in Barcelona, as children’s fashion is a strong sector, especially in the South.
International call and reality
Forty five thousand professionals visited the July 2005 edition. This figure was larger by 10% in January last. Bread & Butter’s international call is not a mere statement of intention for this “tradeshow for selected brands” attracts foreign visitors making up two thirds of the overall number of attendants. In January last, people from 87 countries visited the event to learn about the trends to come, presented by 780 brands and designers. This reveals Bread & Butter is a truly cosmopolitan reality.
Planners were effectively right in choosing two European locations to meet the needs of two major segments in the marketplace. After only two editions Barcelona is already a point of reference for purchasers and professional marketers in Southern Europe while Berlin has become more international. Both Barcelona and Berlin were visited by a total 80,000 persons, which defines Bread & Butter as “the strongest tradeshow for all fashion segments in Europe, and this would never have been possible if all visitors had been invited to a single location”, as planners explain to us.
