Milano Unica was held in the new Rho facilities, to the northwest of the city, from February 14th to 17th. Five tradeshows were held together in a single event visited by over 30,000 persons who came to see products showcased by 713 companies. Ideabella (fabrics for men’s apparel), Ideacomo (fabrics for women’s apparel), Moda In (various types of fabrics, for sportswear and leisure wear, and featuring clasps, buckles and complements), Prato Expo (innovative fabrics, mainly woolen, for men’s and women’s casual wear) and Short Avenue (shirt fabrics), made up this single tradeshow with participants groups as follows: Ideabella, 72; Ideacomo, 52; Moda In, 463; Prato Expo, 81 and Short Avenue, 33. The more than 30,000 visitors – a number larger than the 27,000 recorded for the past edition – revealed positive results.
However, the new location in the Rho exhibitions center was not very much acclaimed for many participants regarded it as unsuitable even if its architecture is superb. They claim fashion needs a warmer setting.
Moda In
This collective tradeshow congregated 389 participants in the Spring 2005 edition and 463 in their latest edition. Of these 463 companies, 351 were Italian and 112, foreign.
Leisure, Nancy and Accesori were the three sectors grouping participants, as usual. The trends area, attracting a large number of visitors, was appreciated by professionals.
Upcoming editions
Milano Unica will be held in Portobello according to the following schedule: September 12th to 15th, 2006; February 13th to 16th, 2007 and September 11th to 14th, 2007.
