The Spanish Knitted Textiles Group and the technological center Cetemmsa have organized, for the first time in Barcelona, an informative workshop day accompanied by an exhibition of products made with intelligent fabrics. Among other participating companies at the forefront of this subject were the European Space Agency, Philips, Reebok and Adidas. This exhibition, to which the press was invited, was held on 7 November 2007 in the Port Vell room of the Barcelona World Trade Center. [Extend new]

The Andalucía Center of Textile Innovation and Technology, CITTA, belongs to RETA, the Andalucía Network of Technological Spaces, and is under the Department of Innovation, Science and Business. It has signed a collaboration agreement with Jaén University, with the aiim of increasing the economic development of the textile sector in Andalucía. [Extend new]

Organized by the Leitat Technology Center and the Textile Research and Industrial Cooperation Institute Intexter, the GEDRT Meeting 2007 was held on 22 and 25 September, an annual international meeting of European experts who meet to analyze the current textile sector and put forward possible improvements in the future.
From this latest meeting conclusions were drawn, most notably the change of perception among those who attended – highest representatives of research centers, universities and technology centers – about the sector’s situation some years after seeing the liberalization of the markets.
